This page explains how GiftGenie handles public gift catalog requests, local preferences, private iCloud sync, and Taobao third-party links.

No third-party advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking.
Purchases
The app does not take payment. Product purchases happen on Taobao or other third-party platforms.
User data
Favorites, special dates, and preferences are stored locally by default and may sync to private iCloud storage.
Service overview
GiftGenie is a gift browsing and comparison app. Payments are not completed inside the app.
GiftGenie lets you browse, filter, favorite, and compare public gift content before festivals or special dates.
Product purchases open Taobao or another third-party platform. GiftGenie does not process payments, orders, shipping, or after-sales service.
Data we process
Processing is limited to public gift catalog access and preferences you choose to save.
- Public gift catalog requests: published gift content, filter conditions, product images, and outbound product link information.
- Local preference data: favorites, special dates, custom anniversaries, theme choices, and hint states.
- iCloud private sync data: on iOS, your local preferences may sync to your private iCloud storage for restoration across your own devices.
- Basic technical data: request time, API status, and error information used to keep the service available and investigate broken products.
How data is used
Data is used for app functionality, not for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Display, paginate, and filter public gift content.
- Save your favorites, special dates, theme, and hint states.
- Investigate API errors, unavailable products, and image loading failures.
GiftGenie does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not perform cross-app tracking.
Taobao and third-party platforms
External purchases are completed by third-party platforms, with an in-app notice before opening them.
When you tap a product link, GiftGenie may open the Taobao app or a Taobao web page. Taobao account handling, payment, orders, shipping, and after-sales service are handled by Taobao or the relevant third-party platform.
Some product links may be Taobao affiliate links and may generate a commission. This does not change your purchase price.
Data deletion
You can clear local data inside the app.
You can clear local GiftGenie data from the app settings page. iOS will also remove the private iCloud records written by this app where applicable.
